And they’re (going) off!

It’s another glorious Cup weekend. The beautiful people are out in force, parading their stunning dresses, gowns and frocks around the track today – and that’s just the men. No time for that though, are gallant steeds are gathering at the starting gates… and – THEY’RE OFF!
Taking in an early lead is Raw Hide, who galloped into first place on this Sunday from 11am til 8pm. In an unprecedented racing move, she’s being ridden by not one, not two, but three champion (disc) jockies - Luke Leal, Jake Kilby and Matt Steer are all caning this animal for she’s worth. This entry was reared at ZOS on Chapel St, a superb breeding ground for any fine stud – especially this Sunday.
Nosing in at a close second around the corner is Market’s Marathon, taking it at a steady pace from 10pm on Monday all the way til noon Tuesday. Keen observers will spot champion jockey Inaya Day reigning the veritable superclub at 1am, alongside backers DJs Queen Martine & James Fraser.
But chortling up the track like a bat outta hell is Locker Room, going hell for leather on Monday night from 11pm til 7am with the delictible (disc) jockey Foos flying all the way from New York to bring a bit of circuit party flavour to this sexy night, along with backers Ruby and Jojo. Punters still wanting to punt after Locker Room should head no further than Market, just across the track – with the official recovery til midday with DJs Sophie Johnston and Scruffy.
Hold on – what’s this?! A young horse has taken the late lead! I think it’s… yes, it’s the Peel! This is some quality racing here today folks, with the Peel giving it all its got with not one, but two huge nights over Cup Weekend for race goers – kicking off Sunday night with Ms Jane’s Flip It (featuring five shows), and taking charge with a Cup Eve bonanza on Monday night from 9pm til dawn.
A spectacular photo finish here at the races today, and over the weekend – so don’t forget your camera.
