JOSH DARE gets down for the Godfather of House.

You know you’ve made it when they have a day in your honour. Frankie Knuckles should know – on August 26, 2004, Mayor Richard M. Daley officially declared the day "Frankie Knuckles Day" in the DJ’s adoptive hometown of Chicago. Meanwhile another senator was responsible for changing the name of the street where the legendary Warehouse once stood to ‘Frankie Knuckles Way’. He’s also since been inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievement as a DJ. Pretty impressive, huh?

This is, of course, as well as calling the man the Godfather of House – an accolade he earnt through his role in creating modern dance music’s global DJ culture.

Now it’s your chance to catch the Godfather of House working his magic. Tonight at The Market, he’ll be playing an exclusive massive four hour set – and as anyone who knows anything about house music knows, this is one gig you won’t wanna miss. If you’ve caught him in the past you’ll know what I’m talking about, if not – do yourself the favour of spending a night on his dance floor today. "Leave the past at the door," Knuckles has said, "and I promise you won’t be disappointed."

He’s joined by Market resident DJs Carmine S. Romano and Tony Svehla. If you haven’t got your ticket already, then get to the Market early – this one’s sure to be a full house.

Frankie Knuckles @ The Market, tonight (February 10). Tickets at the door.
